Celebrities Are On The Green With Autism Speaks At The Riviera Country Club

Bright and early indeed!!!

5th Annual Los Angeles Golf Classic
There was no playing around when it came to the 5th Annual Los Angeles Golf Classic at the exclusive Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. The stars were there early to support the good cause of finding a cure for autism through the organization of Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is the nation's leading autism advocacy organization providing awareness and research for the disorder of autism.

The event started at 10:00 a.m., but majority of the stars showed up at 8:00 a.m. When it came to teeing off they were serious! As a rule of thumb, don't stand in front of a celebrity with a golf club in his hand on the course. Just don't do it! Don't do it! You know what, as a rule of thumb don't stand in front of anyone with a golf club in their hand!

Celebrities, such as brothers Nick and Drew Lachey practiced their long shots; while Bruce Jenner, Alice Cooper, Dennis Haysbert, and Paula Trickey were golf putting their balls on the green.

I just started playing the game of golf, but didn't realize how important the game was to others. When you play the game there is so much concentration in the air. I was afraid to speak for fear that Joe Mantenga might play out his gangster role on me.

It was a magnificent spring day for golf at the Riviera Country Club. Handicaps were beaten and birdies were gained all in the name of Autism Speaks.

Standing Up For "Stand Up For Kids" At The Clippers Charity Dodgeball Tournament

Dodgeball at the Staples Center???

The Clippers Charity Dodgeball Tournament
Usually the Staples Center stages basketball and concert events, but on Sat, March 22, 2008, it was all about Dodgeball. Yep. You heard me. Dodgeball at the Staples Center. Boy, it was exciting indeed! Not only was it exciting because it was held at an unusual location, but the day was full of helping others. Kids came out early on Saturday morning to participate in getting homeless kids off the streets by playing in The Clippers Charity Dodgeball Tournament. In this event, kids competed against each other for the cause of goodness.

Stand Up For Kids organized the tournament and it was a definite success. Celebrities, such as G Unit, Stephen Shockley from Lakeside, Yo Yo, and Lester Speight came out to show their support for Stand Up For Kids.

Even though the event was sponsored by the The Los Angeles Clippers, the team ended up being a no show. Well, as they say in show business, "the show must go on" and it did, but in this case it was all about dodgeball.

I have to admit that watching the dodgeball tournament brought back bad, youthful memories of myself playing the game. I hated playing the game because kids liked to hit me because I was an easy target. I was the "skinny toothpick", so everyone knew I would come tumbling down.

Up to this day, I still have a ball phobia, but on Saturday I was willing to push it all aside and Stand Up For Kids. No, I didn't put on a purple shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes, but just being there and knowing more about this fabulous organization made it all worthwhile.

The Distant Past Is Here With 10,000 B. C.

By Tara Gipson, EN2U reporter

What a prehistoric night!!!

10,000 B.C. Premiere
There weren't any wholly mammoths or saber toothed tigers on the red carpet at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, but wouldn't that have been a sight. They could've thrown in a couple of dinosaurs too. Oh well, I guess they didn't design any special effects to make that happen.

In 10,000 B.C. it takes a hero to change the world and on Wed., March 5, 2008 it took the stars to make that night glow.
10,000 B. C.
premiered on this glorious night and Entertainment News 2 U was there to capture the moment.

Director Roland Emmerich, Steven Strait, Camilla Belle, Joel Virgel, Marco Khan, Reece Ritchie, and Nathanael Barring were there and it was exciting to hear what they had to say to us.

Don't miss out on the Warner Bro. presentation of 10,000 B.C. This prehistoric epic is set to be released on Friday, March 7, 2008 in theatres near you.

Let The Games Begin At The Semi-Pro Premiere

By Tara Gipson, EN2U reporter

Red carpet event???

Semi-Pro Premiere
Not really, but we can say it was a Blue carpet event. Baby Blue is the way I should define it with a Staples Center look to it. No, there wasn't any stadium seating, but a basketball court was surely visible. The Mann Fox Westwood Village Theater is where the fabulous venue took place.

Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson and André Benjamin among others, hit the Baby Blue carpet for the premiere of their latest film Semi-Pro. Early celebrity arrivals were Amanda Bynes, Stacy Kiebler, and Garcelle Beauvais. Of course, the celebrities of the film were late arrivals.

Most memorable was the outfit worn by Will Ferrell. It was said that he borrowed the over sized suit from Shaquille O'Neal. Can Will ever be serious?

Just check out how serious Will Ferrell can be in his up and coming comedic film,
Semi-Pro. Soon to be released on Friday, February 29, 2008.
